Over the course of the year 2023, the KliK Foundation’s engagement on international climate cooperation was further expanded. Currently, 19 greenhouse gas mitigation activities are being developed and will help countries with bilateral climate agreements with Switzerland to intensify climate action under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
Further bilateral climate agreements have been signed between Switzerland and its partner countries, which are a prerequisite for the KliK Foundation to be able to support climate protection activities. After Tunisia and Chile signed bilateral agreements with Switzerland at COP28, 13 countries are now eligible for carbon finance support.
All our greenhouse gas mitigation activities will be additional to the countries’ unconditional NDCs. The KliK Foundation’s financial support is about raising ambition, contributing to sustainable development, ensuring environmental integrity and human rights, and empowering communities in the partner countries.
Also in Switzerland, the KliK Foundation continues to be actively involved in the implementation of mitigation measures.
Last but not least, some internal highlights for 2023. We have developed a new KliK Journal. In addition to the annual report, the journal presents exciting facts, exemplary projects, and innovative minds from the national and international activities. And we are proud to announce our newly structured and designed website. It serves as a window to the public and as our platform for submitting and coordinating mitigation activities. You will find clear, concise, and intuitive information on all our engagements.
The team of the KliK Foundation would like to thank all our partners for the successful and pleasant cooperation. We look forward to supporting you in your current and future climate activities.
