Co-hosted by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment (MOEJ), the A6IP/IGES, GEC, and Switzerland’s FOEN, the event brought together leaders from Japan, Switzerland, Thailand, Senegal, Ghana, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and the KliK Foundation for an inspiring panel discussion.

Key contributors included Mr. Supanut Chotevitayatarakorn (A6IP Japan), Mr. Simon Fellermeyer (FOEN Switzerland), Ms. Paweena Panichayapichet (TGO Thailand), Ms. Madeleine Diouf Sarr (Senegal), Ms. Juliana Bempah (EPA Ghana), Mr. Gregor Sahler (GIZ GmbH), and Ms. Vicky Janssens (KliK Foundation). Moderated by Hiroshi Ono (IGES Japan), the discussions highlighted:

  • Challenges in implementing Article 6.2 mechanisms.

  • The perspectives of acquiring and host countries in selecting and authorizing activities.

  • The private sector’s pivotal role in fostering high-integrity projects.

Vice Minister Yutaka Matsuzawa (Japan) opened the session with insightful remarks, while Ambassador Felix Wertli (Switzerland) delivered a compelling closing.
